How to Register for Approved Training
ND CCR&R Training
Automatically Accepted Training
CPR and First Aid Training Approval
The Growing Futures online Training Calendar is a list of all training approved for child care license renewal and ongoing professional development. When you attend one of the training events listed on the Growing Futures calendar, you are assured that it will be accepted by your licenser and applied toward your placement on the Career Pathways. Remember that as of January 1, 2012, all training must be Growing Futures approved to be counted. Training is no longer approved at the county level.
It’s important to be a careful consumer of training and to be sure a training event is approved before you attend. Again, if the training is listed on the calendar, you know it has been approved. If a training is not listed on the calendar, it may be because the event is closed to public registration (EX: in-service training offered at your place of employment or training provided by a child care association). To check if a training that is not listed on the calendar is approved, ask the organization providing the training to give you the Growing Futures Training Approval Code number. Training that is not listed on the Growing Futures online Training Calendar and does not have a Growing Futures training approval code number is not approved and your attendance at the training will not be accepted for license renewal or professional development.

How to Register for Approved Training
After you’ve confirmed that a training is approved by looking at the Growing Futures online Training Calendar, you will then go directly to the organization sponsoring the training to register and complete the training. If you click the “register” button by each training listed on the calendar, you will be linked to registration information the organization has provided. The exception is ND CCR&R – read below for more information.
ND CCR&R Training
ND CCR&R is partnering with Growing Futures to test our online registration system. As a benefit of being a member of Growing Futures (you will receive a membership packet in the mail confirming your membership), you will be able to register for ND CCR&R training through the Growing Futures website. Just click the checkbox to the left of each ND CCR&R training listed on the calendar to add it to your shopping cart. Once you’ve completed the registration process, you will receive an email from ND CCR&R giving you more information about how to attend and complete the training you’ve registered to take. You can also register for any ND CCR&R training by visiting their website at www.ndchildcare.org. All ND CCR&R training has been Growing Futures approved – whether you register through the Growing Futures website or the ND CCR&R website, the training is approved and will be accepted for license renewal and ongoing professional development.
Automatically Accepted Training
There are a few instances where training has been automatically approved. These events will not appear on the calendar and will not have an approval code. However, when you attend an automatically approved training, you can submit your training certificate after-the-fact and have it added to your professional development record to be applied toward license renewal or Career Pathways placement. Again, be a careful consumer. After you attend, send photocopy of your certificate to the Growing Futures Registry office along with the form requesting that it be added to your record.
