Repeating Training Courses

Can a Training Course be Repeated?

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) does not accept repeated training courses within a 36-month period for child care license renewal. The only exception is training on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), which must be completed annually by individuals who work with infants.

Why is a Course Marked Duplicate?

You may register for and complete a course within the 36-month period via the Training Calendar. However, repeated courses will appear on your training record marked as “Duplicate”, and the clock hours will not be added to your yearly training total and will not be accepted toward annual child care licensing.

Repeated clock hours will also not be added to your overall training hour summary. This means that the courses will not apply to Career Pathways placement or toward completion of a professional qualification such as the CDA Credential.
