Training Sponsors

Training sponsors play a crucial role in helping prepare the early childhood workforce to provide quality care and education. Organizations that wish to provide training for the early childhood workforce must create an organization account (PDF, 588.92 KB) with the Growing Futures Registry and be approved as a training sponsor before training courses can be submitted for approval.

Benefits of Being an Approved Training Sponsor

  • Offer your training that is accepted for childcare licensing to the early childhood and school age workforce in North Dakota
  • Promote your training on the Growing Futures Statewide Training Calendar
  • Manage your training using the Registry online attendance tracker, and award clock hours to attendees quickly and easily
  • Utilize the Growing Futures online registration feature (PDF, 154.95 KB)
  • See a history of the training events your organization has provided.

Responsibilities of Training Sponsors

Organizations that sponsor training are responsible for the development and management of the courses they provide. The Growing Futures Registry approves, promotes, and tracks approved training but it is the responsibility of the training organization to create their courses, submit their courses for approval, meet the approval criteria, manage registration and fee payment/reimbursement, take and reconcile attendance, and award clock hours to attendees. Training sponsors must also agree to utilize trainers who have current professional expertise in the topics being delivered, and for Level 2 training to use only pre-approved trainers. Training sponsors must maintain records of training attendance for at least 12-months following the training delivery date. Please note that all issues and questions related to a training event will be referred to the training sponsor.

Communication with Training Sponsors

All communication between the Registry and training sponsors related to training approval and delivery is via email. Emails are sent by the Registry to the individual listed as the owner/primary contact in the organization account. It is up to the organization to ensure that the person who receives the emails is the person who will be managing the training or to set up an internal process to relay information from the Registry to the person. If there is a change in the contact person for the organization, it is essential to immediately update the contact information in the organization account.

Training Sponsor Agreement

Training organizations that wish to sponsor training must agree to the Growing Futures Training Sponsor Agreement (PDF, 301.46 KB) as part of the approval process. The agreement allows the organization to sponsor training for 24-months and then must be renewed to continue to sponsor training. Please read the Training Sponsor Agreement completely before agreeing to terms. The Growing Futures Registry reserves the right to remove training sponsor approval at any time if an organization has violated the terms.

Request Approval to Become a Training Sponsor

Organizations that wish to be approved as a training sponsor can request approval when setting up their Organization Account (PDF, 502.14 KB). Independent trainers who want to be able to deliver approved training must set up an Organization Account for their training business and request approval.

Once you’ve submitted your request for approval, Registry staff will call to verify your Organization Account information before activating your account, and they will discuss with you the responsibilities of being an approved training organization in North Dakota. Growing Futures reserves the right to deny approval of an organization without explanation.

If you wish to be approved as a training sponsor after your Organization Account has already been activated, Please contact us. Registry staff will contact you with further information.

Remove or Deactivate Training Sponsor Approval

If your organization is approved to sponsor training and no longer wishes to do so, please contact the Registry office during normal business hours for assistance.
