Impacts of the Pandemic on Children’s Development and Learning
The National Institute for Early Education Research conducted an initial study to begin tracking the impact of the pandemic on young children’s development and learning. The pandemic upended children and family experiences so that children’s lives were disrupted both at home and in early childhood settings. We know that early experiences have long-term impacts for children, making this research particularly important. The study identified seven areas of impact and had a specific focus on children’s social-emotional development and wellbeing.
